DC20 Homebrew - Dragon Heist Chapter 1

In testing out some DC20 this past summer, my party started the Dragon Heist adventure book.  I converted Chapter 1 into DC20, used a lot of Party Challenges to shorten the amount of time needed to run through the entire Chapter and the party finished it in about two 4 hour sessions.  Here are my notes for it:

Dragon Heist: Chapter One

NOTE: We stopped the game because summer came to an end, and you will need familiarity with the Dragon Heist book and story to run this, these are just my bare-bones GM notes.

Enjoy!

DC20 Homebrew - Hidden Presence Spell

Some more homebrew for DC20.  If you have not checked out DC20, the combat system is amazing and I can't wait for it to be finished.  I can see future D&D campaigns using DC20 instead of D&D, even now with the interest in the new edition of D&D coming out, DC20 stands out as everything wanted in D&D combat.

One of the characters was a small teen Psychic that could pummel people with his brain, but wanted a psychic spell that could hide him.  This is my take on the Invisibility Spell, but with a psychic skew to it.

Pantheon Project: Part 1

THE Pantheon Project

Iteration 80220241

For me, one of the best things to come out of the OGL debacle of Jan 2023, was discovering and getting into all the amazing TTRPGs that I didn't know exist, that could replace D&D.  Mork Borg, Blades in the Dark, Heart, Root, Daggerheart, and now DC20.  But the one that I wanted to run more than any other was Dungeon Crawl Classics.  It has such a Conan the Barbarian, Elric of Melniborne, and Fafhrd & the Grey Mouser feel to it. I love the gritty and gonzo system, and MORE funky dice!

BUT, my GM style is to make the PCs the protagonists in an epic story.  I spend a lot of time and effort prepping to make my stories and combats challenging and dangerous, but the idea of a PC dying is something I struggle with. I tend to make them too important to the story, they are the center of the story.

So, to get around this I needed to make something else the center of the story.

DC20: Mines of Aderynx

So my D&D group finished up Act 1 of their current campaign just as DC20 popped up on my radar.  So I threw together a quick scenario inspired by one of the battle maps I got from the Grim Hollow Monster Grimoire Kickstarter. It was a hit and I have been using it as a quick introduction to the DC20 combat system.

I present to you: The Mines of Aderynx

Use as you will, enjoy, and definitely check out DC20.  It is awesome, currently I am converting D&D one-shots and even Dragon Heist to DC20 for the group!
